Koper is the largest of four coastal municipalities with about 52.000 inhabitants and 4th largest municipality in Slovenia. It is one of 11 city municipalities in Slovenia and the regional center with university, high schools, various enterprises and the port.Municipality could use the results of the project, because it has similar geographic characteristics (climate, topography, location on the coast). The location enables the municipality to use the sea water for heating/cooling purposes of public buildings. The municipality has implemented different actions of energy refurbishment of public buildings during past years.
