Trieste is the capital of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Trieste is near the border with Slovenia. The main city has a population of 200,000 inh. (2016 census). Trieste has public facilities in which sea water heat pumps (SWHP) have been installed, such as a swimming pool and an exhibition hall. It intends to study the possibility of installing other SWHPs in the next urban renewal of the Porto Vecchio (“Old Port”), of about 60 hectares which has numerous buildings facing the sea that will be converted into public and private structures with a large economic and financial plan: university buildings, shopping centers, convention centers, etc. Location
